It’s November (oh yes, already)…
For me, it’s time to start thinking about Christmas. After all a simple, homemade Christmas doesn’t happen overnight. Not at Chez Wright anyway – I’m built for comfort not speed ๐
I’m a huge advocate of developing simple traditions and creating lifetime memories.
The Christmas chutney is maturing nicely, so, it’s time to move onto the next tradition on the list.
Before the Kids start writing their own letter to Santa, or I finalise the Christmas boxes we’ll be gifting to family and friends this holiday, we close the lids on the Operation Christmas Child boxes and send them on their way.
If you’d like to take part this year, there’s still time. The UK deadline for boxes is 18 November 2012.
Check out their website for further details.
There’ll be another Christmas gift post this week. I’m sorry if it’s a little early for some ๐ but I’m posting in the order I do things this year. I like to have the gifts all wrapped up (pardon the pun) in plenty of time. After all they need to be sent Santamail to the Big Guy in red for distribution on the 24th December. And you never know with the mail these days, do you?
Have you started your Christmas planning yet?
First batch of chutney made this weekend, pre-Christmas clearout and Ebay sale up and running, and I’ve got as far as putting the wrapping paper, the sellotape and the empty shoe boxes all in one place…you’ve reminded me I really need to get on and get things to put inside them…But that’s about it for Xmas here so far!
Sarah – you’ve reminded me, I need that last eBay push. About ยฃ150 away from target! Thanks!

Our boxes were packed up and sent into school on Monday. Bit of christmas shopping done this week and a birthday on Friday then it’s full on christmas prep. I also have 2 assignments due in in December and an exam, so keeping things simple will be ever more important this year!!
Love this time of year though, we watched polar express at the weekend and we all agreed it felt really christmasey!!

Are you making the birthday cake? ๐
The Kids watched Polar Express also. That’s what I love about normal TV – there are others across the UK enjoying the same thing at the same time!
Good luck with your assignments….
Of course!! Cake is made and just needing to be iced!!

I started my Christmas shopping last Thursday – the decorations were already up at the shops! I like to be well ahead and avoid any last minute rushing. Back in the pre-kid days we used to be a bit more last minute, but now, no way! Looking forward to more Christmas inspiration ๐
Last minute and Kids don’t mix – do they? AS I hate shopping anyway, any bits and pieces I need, must be purchased way ahead else in the Christmas crowds I’d just give up!

We did our main Christmas prep last weekend. That was breaking the news to the family that we were NOT travelling down into the countryside for family Christmas this year. Will stay in London, just the two of us. Ahh, bliss.
London Christmas prep will start after we move. Will be a 10 minute bus ride from Aldi, can’t wait!
10 mins – what a result Lauren!
