It’s always a little strange typing the first post after a break. The keyboard feels alien, and I’m sitting wondering what to type.
I can barely remember what I last posted, it’s been such a while ago. Before we left for Lapland I scheduled 2 posts, so the last time I actually wrote something was about the 14th December. Over 2 weeks ago. My longest time away ever from the blog.
(Finland has the most beautiful skyline I’ve ever seen)
Firstly I want to thank everyone for their kind wishes, here and over at Facebook, wishing me a speedy recovery. Thank you.
As today is the last day of 2012, I really should be doing a round-up of 2012. But I’m not back up to full capacity, and to be completely honest am happy to just now move on into 2013.
Not one for new year resolutions, I won’t be posting about anything like that. I’m a firm believer that it’s ‘what you do every day that counts, not once in a while’. I’m also getting more cynical as I get older, and wonder how much the consumer market relies upon new year resolutions to sell quick fixes each January. No product fixes anything, only a persons determination, hard-work and will power can make a difference.
It’s going to be a quiet New Year at Chez Wright. A little different to the festivities of last year. Sometimes you just got to go with the cards you’re dealt.
I’d like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year, and see you bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in 2013!
((p.s – I did manage to drag myself out of my sick-bed to go see Mr Gary Barlow last night (I had a much coveted ticket). It was hard-work but worth it. If anyone fancies learning why my ears are ringing this morning, check out the clip over at Facebook. Not my clip – I hadn’t the energy to do much else than stand there – but you’ll get the gist very quickly as to the noise level from the crowd)).

Great to hear from you! You were missed. I too have been sick since. ( Dec 16th) venturing out today but feel as weak as a kitten and quite fed up. Hubby is treating me to lunch at Wagamama – my fave – in an attempt to get me eating something normal!
So glad you are back with us and hope you feel stronger very soon.
Happy New Year to you and your family! Xxxx

Happy New Year to you too Nell, and I hope you enjoyed your lunch!

Glad you are starting to feel better. Wishing you all the best for 2012. And thank you so much for the gingerbread house which arrived safely!

I did wonder if it arrived okay! Thanks for letting me know. Have a great 2013!

I believe we can start a new year of better habits any day of the year, so I don’t do the new year’s resolutions either. That said, my cookie-eating habit developed over the holidays has to stop!

Meant to add – take it easy until you’re feeling better 🙂

I’m sure once we get into Jan, a lot of those temporary habits will stop. I’m currently eating chocolate whilst typing, but as I lost 9lbs over Christmas I can just about get away with it at the mo!
