This year Santa will not be hitting the shops. Instead there’ll be homemade gifts given by The Wrights to family and friends.
Okay, well maybe not all homemade. There’s some experience gifting going on as well as a little overt re-gifting and also some tasty treats. But we’re headed in the right direction.

This year’s gifts will consist of:
Hand knitted scarves
Oh yes, I finally cracked it. In fact I’m now addicted. My knitting basket accompanies me to all sorts of places, where I know I’ll spend time waiting, and I crack on. Looks a little odd maybe? I don’t know, maybe not. Apparently knitting is very ‘this season’!
Yummy yummy yummy. I had a little over, not enough for a full jar, and having no patience I’ve started topping my cheese and crackers with it. Still tastes great despite it’s immaturity. These jars will be given with the proviso that they are to be refilled. A never-ending gobstopper (sorry having a Willy Wonka moment) jar of chutney.
Handmade (not by me, or an artistic elf, but my dear running buddy) Scrabble Frames
I love these frames, and they are made so much more special because I know the lovely person who makes them. In fact I’ve purchased 6 so far!
Slow Cooked Homemade Christmas Pudding
There’ll be Christmas pud gifted (to be made this weekend) and also Christmas cake.
Moving onto the experience gifts:
Theatre Tickets
Okay so the Elves have been bending the plastic on the world-wide-web. But I love giving the gift of an experience. And I get to go also – bonus!
Store Gift Vouchers
For those who like to shop… I don’t, but others do and I appreciate that. Everything is half-price after Christmas so why buy before?
Time in the kitchen – with me (of course!)
I’m a woman on a mission. To educate pizza eaters the world over that you can’t beat homemade for price and taste. Attached to the pizza tray will be a handmade voucher for a pizza-making lesson.
A bit of re-gifting also, me thinks.
Completely upfront re-gifting of a book and DVD. I’ll be attaching a note explaining the gift, and asking the recipient to pass on to a good home once read/watched. Sometimes when decluttering I stumble across items that I think ‘Oh xxxx would like that’.
There’ll be some tasty treats added in for good measure – so there is a little shopping. Pretty much entirely purchased from Aldi this year! And whilst at Aldi doing my grocery shop, so no additional trips.
Finally, everything will be housed in its own decoupaged recycled gift box. I haven’t started these yet (note to self – get on with it – these babies take time!).
Above is a box from last year. I’m thinking the pizza tray isn’t going to fit. Time to get sewing me a reusable gift bag. I’ve been eyeing up Kristen’s for a while now.
**disclaimer – The big Guy in red will be sorting the Kids’ wish list separately as I’m pretty sure my creative skills do not include encasing a circuit board inside fake fur**

I absouloutly love what you do, so much so i have stollen it!!! I cheated and bought boxes from wh smiths, ones that will be re-used year after year. Each one of my kids will have literally this box filled with goodies, and their main pressy, that’s it, no piles of cr@p to wrap, tidy away, then eventually rehome. Jo you are my hero 🙂 *wishes i could knit*

It’s not a Christmas present, but I got a pizza pan like that last week at a yard sale for 25 cents. I can’t wait to try it out.
