We’ve all heard it before. Adversity brings opportunity. Every cloud has a silver lining. It all turns out for the best in the end.
But what if that were actually true? I believe time after time it is.
Do you recall I was moving my blog over to a new host away from WordPress.com? It’s all gone very quiet here as I try to make that transition.
Well it hasn’t gone quite to plan. Not at all.
And maybe it wasn’t supposed to?
I was never convinced it was the right thing for me to do. I love WordPress.com. Truly.
And I wasn’t really sure why I was moving, or whether it was the right thing for you Guys either.
So I’m not. There will be some developments but the blog here will remain the same.
It’s quite exciting. In fact those who follow me on Twitter will know I had a good old bout of insomnia last night as I had an idea just before bed on how to move forward – it was a little like the night before Christmas.
But enough about me. What about you? Have you had any blessings in disguise? Silver linings? Has fate ever intervened and guided you down a more appropriate path?

The idea of moving my blog from Blogger to another platform is enough to make my blood pressure rise so I can commiserate. I’ve read too many horror stories from bloggers who attempted a switch and lost many things (pictures, posts…) in the process and I don’t want to tempt fate, hahaha. Can’t wait to see what changes you’ll implement.
I don’t recall any dramatic way fate has made things better by default recently, but I do know that finding out that Orbitz won’t let me upgrade my Avis car rental without having to cancel my entire trip reservations (i.e. plane tickets too) saved me money by forcing me to have to deal with a smaller car… hence smaller expenses. So, while I’m annoyed, I’m also thankful that the responsibility of incurring larger expenses has been removed from my shoulders, hahaha.

I’ve decided to stay here with this blog. There’ll be a ‘spin off’ site shortly. It just makes more sense. I was struggling to move all my content – that’s what happens when you have 5 years worth to move!
Great job on spinning the negative to a positive on the car!
