It’s Thursday Guys.
The blog is open, and anything goes.
I’ll kick off with a few of my own ramblings today.
Firstly a HUGE thank you to long-time reader and virtual friend Sharron.
She sent me this book on Tuesday.
It’s very different to what I have previously read on decluttering, and I’ll be blogging about it very soon.
Thanks Sharron – you’re a star!
Today I’m out to lunch, so will be back at the blog in a few hours. It’s a dear friends birthday.
But I have a confession to make.
Despite being one of the top search results on Google UK for ‘make a birthday cake’ this time I have adapted a shop-bought one.
(cannot show photo yet as it hasn’t been unveiled and it may spoil the surprise!)
Which goes to show, sometimes we all need to take shortcuts for our sanity.
What shortcuts do you take?
And the floors open, come on pop by and chat. Don’t be shy!
**I’ve popped in before heading out to link to the post below**
As Jenny herself says “What I didn’t forsee with publishing was just how helpful it would be for some people who needed to read it right at that moment.”
It made me think. And made me share it today. My thoughts have been with Jenny and her family for the last two months. Maybe there is someone who needs to read it, who hasn’t seen it.

Hi Jo! Still decluttering at Chez Fitz and its addictive! Encouraged by you! 🙂 The book you mention looks really interesting and I look forward to the blog post about it. This week is all about charity boxes, hanging curtains and sorting through books around here. Home improvements all round. I painted a blackboard wall in the kitchen yesterday and I love it. So does my boy! So useful for shopping lists, reminders and impromptu kids art.
Have a lovely rest of the week xx

A blackboard wall sounds great. I have considered it, but my kitchen has a lot of black in it already, and I’m not sure it can withstand any more!
Hope the decluttering goes well – I’ve got stuck in with new vigour since getting my new book!
Enjoy your week x

Good afternoon! I enjoyed the book as it’s such a different approach. It took me years to get to the level im at now (although ive always been an avid declutterer) but this book’s approach is to do it all now and when your time poor (which i am now) it makes sense. So glad your enjoying it, i knew you would 🙂
I have been to do my food shop today, went to lidl for a change a bit further out but it was worth the drive for the fresh baguettes alone. Have been meal planning and executing like crazy these past two weeks, my waistline has suffered these past couple of years, too much convnience foods 🙁 It was lovely to have the time to get back to basics and instill some good home cooked food and hopefully shed a few pounds.
Christmas plans coming on lovley too and only 3 weeks till we go to NYC, super excited. I love this time of year halloween, bonfire night, and christmas preparations all with the candles and fire on and lovely home cooked food. I must admit though i am ready for spring when it arrives but autumn is my fave time of year. I remember your christmas boxes Jo, i loved that idea and i bought some bigger ones in marks and spencers the other day. The idea is that all the kids stocking fillers (mainly consumables) will all go in the box and their main present gets wrapped it cuts down on the wrapping time. Works great when you have older kids but i’m guessing it could be done too for younger ones.
Right finished me coffee, off now to do some research on ACE inhibitors (blood pressure tablets..Ha) for my up and coming assignment. Rock n Roll, that’s me 🙂
Speak soon

I think this book may be good for those who have plateaued. I’ve been decluttering forever! And I do wonder if Maries approach maybe just what I need. Literally I can hardly sit and read the book, I just become totally overcome with an urge to start throwing things out!
Cant beat a bit of meal planning!
We’re doing boxes again this year (of course) and have started the prep for them. I want everything wrapped up (pardon the pun by the end of October).
Very exciting about NYC – you will definitely have to pop over and tell us all about it!
Thanks for the book once more x

There’s nothing I can do to help. But my thoughts are so much with you and your family. Hopefully this shares your message that little bit further of ” You are never on your own”. As you explain there may just be someone out there who needs to read your posts, right at this moment x

I needed, at this moment in time, to read Jenny’s posts. Thank you for the link. I did not know about Jenny’s blog or of her daughter’s death. I cried as I read what she has written. It greatly touched me.
