In 48 hours we’ll be sitting down to Christmas dinner at Chez Wright.
Good job I’ve laid the table.
I like to be prepared so that Christmas Eve remains stress-free.
It’s a day of final preparations. The last gifts have been distributed.
The Kids have finished off their homemade gifts for their friends.
I’ve yet to glue the date plaques, I made, onto the photo frames for the annual school photos for Grandparents.
I’ll do that later with a mince-pie and festive drink.
There are things I had hoped to do, but didn’t. Every year I have a cut-off when what hasn’t been done, isn’t done. This year we’d planned on making the Christmas crackers. It didn’t happen. Maybe next year?
The ‘cooking’ plan is still to be drafted up. As I cook alone I like to have a running order and checklist.
Slow-cooking the turkey should alleviate some of the pressure on the oven. Plenty of room for roasties and potato twirls.
It’s all going so smoothly I’m wondering what I have forgotten.
I guess I won’t know until I remember 😉

I’ve seen some of the photos of the flooding in England. It just looks awful….memories of Hurricane Sandy in New England. I hope that you are your family are safe, dry, and have the lights on.
