‘Today I am’ posts appear on other blogs and I really enjoy reading them, but I’m ย always reluctant to post one myself. Who cares what ‘little ole me’s’ doing? ๐ But I have a very busy week and really would like to get something up here at my virtual home so here goes…enjoy? or not? haha!
Today I am…
Sealing the recently painted salt dough shapes I baked on Monday, and painted yesterday.
I have a batch of 30 cards to make by Friday! Once dried I can crack on with attaching them to the cards.
Today I am…
Attempting to replicate the cupcakes I made yesterday over at Landgirls Cookery School…
There’s a friend’s birthday to bake for, and also a school fundraiser.
Today I am…
Dying a redundant item of clothing, for the first time in my life.
To say I’m a little apprehensive is an understatement.
Tomorrow is World Book Day and the Kids are dressing up as their favourite character. First-born needs a red pinafore to transform herself into Naughty Amelia Jane.
Today I am…
Making a start on a street art/graffiti 21st birthday cake.
No photo as I accidentally deleted it, and really am up against it today time-wise so am not re-shooting it.
The neighbours witnessed me spray (edible) paint on a cake board this morning (the front door was closer than the back when I decided to go outside to do it).
What I know about street art is minimal, so this is going to be interesting!
I love a challenge.
What are you doing today?

Looks like you are having a very full and creative day today. I am going to be enjoying a day off work as I watch snow accumulate. Then the shoveling starts.

I love snow! have fun! (I don’t love shoveling…)

I always love to see what other people are doing, and I know I’m not alone in that – don’t be self-conscious! We bloggers must have some self-esteem or we wouldn’t be writing about ourselves at all ๐

Oh no! You’ve reminded me that I should not be sitting here reading this (enjoyable as it is) but should be trying to magic up a Where’s Wally character costume for World Book Day (not Wally himself but a yellow and black striped character apparently….not sure how I’m going to pull that out of the bag)…
simplybeingmum says
Hope it went well. My pinafore didn’t dye so I purchased something!

Our plans didn’t work out either – we went for Just William instead. (And we’re going to try and atone for the fact that son hasn’t read the books by getting a JW book with the Book day token…)

Those cupcakes are absolutely beautiful, Jo!
Today, I, um, eh, should be doing the taxes, cleaning out one of the freezers to unplug until mid to late summer, making waffles for tomorrow’s breakfast, doing a few loads of laundry. Um, looks like I need to hop to it! Have a great day!

Today, as I am 5 weeks into being home with a broken ankle with no sick benefits, I made cranberry sauce for smoothies, I am soaking seeds for sprouting, have rhubarb crisp in oven and am washing clothes with the homemade laundry soap I made. The fruit was in the freezer and I have a well stocked baking pantry. Only 2 more weeks to go before I return to work. I will continue to be resourceful to get through this tight time.

Hope things improve soon Shelley…Take care!

I love to see what other people are doing, too. I always feel a bit bad that I don’t blog, in order to allow other people into my life a bit, but am thankful that the bloggers I read don’t seem to mind.
Your cupcakes are divine – so intricate! You have real talent, Jo.
Will you be showing us the cards you’re making with those hearts? If we ask nicely?!
simplybeingmum says
You should blog Jo.H – it’s been a great addition to my life! The cards – yep a post planned!
