One reason I don’t make New Year’s resolutions (anymore) is that they are too easily broken. And once broken it is rather convenient to wait for another landmark date to get on track again.
I sincerely believe it’s what you do everyday that counts.
Having said that, there is one area of my life which I have let slide of late. Typically the Christmas period brings with it much clutter. As time to leave Christmasland arrives, my urge to purge resurfaces.
I’ve been a little out of sorts (I may have mentioned it 😉 – I’m not the most patient patient!). Not being 100% has meant things have slid even further. It doesn’t take long for piles of stuff to breed.
I posted last year how I am still decluttering. It does feel a little as though there is no end in sight.
So no New Years resolution, just a pact with myself to ‘use it or lose it’ and that this will be the year that everything in the home has a ‘purpose and place’.
How about you? What are your plans for the forthcoming year? Have you made any resolutions?

I try to declutter as I go along, but with that being said, there always seems to be a lot of stuff around that needs to be sorted and purged. I think it all multiplies at night. Good luck with your goal.

Still decluttering here as well – over 25 years’ worth of accumulated stuff: personal household things, volunteer paperwork, and everything from a business that is now closed. The big difference recently for me is that my husband is able to devote time to it also, so it’s going a lot faster 🙂
Good luck in the new year with your own decluttering, Jo. I think the job is never done, but I also think we reach a point where it is possible to maintain a good balance with minimal working at it.

Good luck to you Jo also. Sounds like you’ve got a great extra pair of hands!

I am so glad you are feeling much better. I also make no resolutions at the beginning of the year as they don’t last. I find I do better at making lasting changes when the spirit moves me as I have the energy to deal with it then. Lol. Good luck on the decluttering. I am not good at doing it but maybe this year I might do better. We downsized our house 7 years ago. That forced cleansing out much of what was broken or unwanted. We gave heirlooms to our kids and donated much else but we kept WAY too much still!

That is so true. Just because it’s Jan 1st doesn’t mean you have the motivation or inclination to do something. Much better to get stuck in when you are at full capacity physically and mentally!
