It’s Friday Guys – time for No Waste Tastes Great
Where is Simply Being Mum’s Friday Fridge I hear you ask?
Well…it’s not a pretty picture. My fridge reflects the week I have had.
In fact I’m pretty sure how chaotic or calm my fridge is, is a metaphor for my life! 😉
There will be a fridge clean later today, and I have a feeling there’ll be double-cream waste as well as some mini German sausages! Oh dear! Both of which I’m not prepared to take my chances with as dairy and pork can be ruthless when past it’s prime.
On a more positive note, I have a giveaway winner to announce…
It’s Sarah from Everyday Life On A Shoestring…
(Just look at the quality of that photo! Oh boy! Embarrassing – but was taken quickly on my phone…)
I used the highly sophisticated method of drawing the winner from a hat. Comment number 1 won. Sarah will receive a fabulous DIY Gingerbread Kit from Aldi.
Sarah – please drop me a line with delivery address? Thanks!
Anyhow back to food waste business…
How’s your Fridge looking this Friday? Anything to declare? Or is it nice and bare? Please share…
No Waste Tastes Great is bought to you (as always) with thanks to The Frugal Girl for the original inspiration.

I’ve wasted 2 yoghurts (Zoe is the only one who eats them and she decided she didn’t like apricot anymore, the whims of children!) and a bit of lettuce. I’m hoping for no food waste this week, but you never know! Alex came down with a tummy bug Wednesday night (fun!!) and I have purposefully only bought fruit and vege to last to the end of the weekend, as I’m feeling a bit queasy and there is nothing worse than having a fridge full of fresh produce, a house full of ill people and having to throw the whole lot in the bin at the end of the week! (been there done that!!!) Hope you have a better week next week 🙂

I agree that how we do with our fridges is a reflection of how busy we are – priorities change and some things fall to the bottom of the list. In my case, what fell were four bananas, a third of a bag of salad greens, and a small dish of tomato sauce. 🙂 … the reason they didn’t get used is that I had several extra commitments for myself and my elderly parents. I did so much better than in the past, though – so, relatively speaking, I feel pretty successful. Pretty soon it will be January and we’ll all manage better!
