If you didn’t, please let me explain…
From this Friday – 14 September, every other week I will be hosting Food Waste Friday.
This is a great honour for me. Kristen’s blog The Frugal Girl is my number 1 blog to read. It is beautifully written with honesty, integrity and it continually inspires.
Since I started participating in Food Waste Friday, almost 2 years ago now, my wasteful habits have reduced considerably. It was because of Food Waste Friday that No Waste Tastes Great was born.
There’ll be no change at Chez Wright to my Friday routine. Even when hosting Food Waste Friday I’ll be photographing my Fridge, making my food waste saves, and confessing any fails. As always, I’ll be encouraging you to do the same.
This newly acquired responsibility will spur me on to reduce food waste further.
No Waste Tastes Great isn’t just about Fridays. I’ve said it before, it’s all about keeping your eye on the prize. Some weeks I’m more on the ball than others. This is one of those weeks. Reduction of food waste is centre stage in my mind.
Feeling motivated today I will be…
Turning this (fortunately not-buttered)…
Into this…
To result in this…
I’ll also be using this…
To top the cake that will be made with these…
The recipe for which can be found over at JoJo Bakes…
Today I’ll also be finishing this…
Once you start you can’t stop with the *Reuse, Refresh, Repurpose vibe…before you know it you’ll see potential in all sorts of seemingly redundant items.
(*not an affiliate link, I just love the concept!)
Oh yes, I’m now painting shoeboxes to make customised toy containers. I’ve expanded my repertoire and I no longer just decoupage. It was a hit with my 7-year-old, she thinks I’m a very clever Mommy.
Mission accomplished.
I hope you’ll pop across Friday to take part in the first ever Food Waste Friday hosted by Simply Being Mum. Looking forward to seeing you here!
I now update daily on Facebook, why not head on over, join the conversation, and get updated when posts go live?

I was just looking at the pile of old shoeboxes in my wardrobe and wondering what to do with them. I think my 7 year old daughter would appreciate a Moshi Monsters storage box so might get creating! Could then do Cars 2 and Peppa Pig for my other two!
