Just a quick update Guys, I could upload photo’s and now can’t again. The Simple Birthday Cake Recipe was written yesterday (and should have been posted) but it needs photos.
I’m trying to establish what the problem is, I believe it’s Google Chrome rather than WordPress that’s not playing ball – the server won’t send the data to the blog.
Sorry!
Not a happy bunny once more!

Not to worry Jo! It’ll be all better getting your witty updates. ๐

Cheers Laura – It’s very frustrating… no rhyme or reason to it. I’m currently playing around with it and some images are uploading, others aren’t, then they are. Lot’s of clearing browsing data and shutting Chrome down and the restarting. Almost there!

You could try another browser to see if it is Chrome? I just went back to Firefox (at home, I always use Firefox at work as it has the best development tools) as I found Chrome was too buggy. Particularly if the uploader is flash based, Chrome doesn’t play nicely with Flash at all for me.
Not sure how much you can do with the hosted version, but I could take a look if you like. Drop me an email if it’s still not working. ๐

Cheers Lauren – I think you may be right. I’ve just tried it in Internet Explorer and the first photo uploaded fine, and it is one I’ve had a problem with. Now I’ve thought about it Chrome has been doing some odd stuff the last month generally.
Thanks for your offer of help! I know where to come should I get stuck, but I reckon first thing will be to take Chrome off and see how I go…
I’m planning on upgrading the blog this year, not really sure where to start so again your advice may be really helpful. Thinking of buying a wordpress theme and self-hosting (maybe?) – need to think about it first. I’m very much in the ‘walk before I can run’ camp when it comes to technology!

Laura – any thoughts on whether my AVG software could be causing a problem? I just tried to upload another photo and a message popped up from AVG saying it identified high memory usage (my image files can be quite large) and suggested shutting down and restarting. Then the connection stopped.
