An unplanned impromptu post on its way guys…
Rachel Jonat aka The Minimalist Mom has given a radio interview over in Canada to a local station talking about how she has reduced her debt by over $50,000 in under a year, by embracing minimalism.
I can relate to Rachel, a Mom of one – Henry, and her blog.
Amongst some of the mutual practises we share is that she frequents the local library, doesn’t have cable and rents DVD’s (I have the minimum deal with LoveFilm each month – and guess what? it’s also an eye opener – this week I accidentally ordered an Indian language film with English subtitles which is 2 and a half hours long – and it’s pretty good I must say – see not just a film but a surprise and cultural experience to boot!)
She also has a minimal wardrobe – snap – but Rachel has gone that extra mile and has decluttered her car, most of her kitchen, her wedding dress and lots and lots of other things – she really is an inspiration!
Go and check it out! The added bonus is you get to hear Henry in the background chattering away!Listen Here or go direct to Rachel’s Blog

It was great! Really inspiring – I can sense my wedding dress inching further and further into the corner of the loft in fear… have a lovely day over there!

It was lovely to listen to BC radio. When I spent a couple of weeks in Whistler ski-ing, I listened to one of the radio stations each morning, looking out at the snow. I have some of the happiest memories of my life from just those two weeks! BC has some of the most chilled out DJ’s I have ever heard. Hardly surprising really, living in such a beautiful country/region!
