Friday
Friday is the day I take part in Food Waste Friday over at The Frugal Girl – I am out for dinner with friends this Friday, so I will prep something for the Hubby and Kids from what, if anything, I have leftover – as we skipped a meal tonight (Saturday) I will probably cook what I had planned then.
Normally I leave Friday unplanned, as it allows me to put my culinary thinking chef’s hat on and use up anything that could potentially go to waste. If the fridge is bare, the Hubby and I get to have a takeaway! This takeaway is becoming a rare treat as since I started blogging we have not had one. This could mean 1 of 2 things. Either I have more leftovers of late, or that by taking part in Food Waste Friday I am more vigilant in using up what I have. I think the latter – so if any of you guys are finding that you are throwing away food at the end of the week why not consider taking part in Food Waste Friday?
If you need any inspiration for a No Waste Tastes Great meal using up your potential food waste, then do drop me a line, I’m always up for a challenge!
Off to play Florence Nightingale and then declutter some Christmas decorations! Oh the excitement of a Saturday night when you have two small children…
🙂
n.b actually I am very excited about decluttering my decorations – I’m feeling ruthless tonight – there’ll be nowhere to hide for the little shiny blighters!
